This summer, Palski & Associates has hired 4 talented interns from 4 different universities across the nation. This year’s project is taking a previous project to the next level – by integrating a scene generation lab into our web-based orbit simulation tool to create a HardWare In the Loop validation system! By integrating this lab into our simulator, operators will now be able to see a target satellite from the perspective of a chaser satellite, which will allow an operator to validate the tuning of their Kalman filter. This will provide a unique insight into Kalman filter tuning and Rendezvous Proximity Operations (RPO) for operators once fully functional – and will open the door for broader applications of HWIL systems for training Space Force Guardians.
Our interns have been hard at work to get this feature implemented, and they have been learning a lot along the way! By exposing them to various aspects of the Space Defense industry, such as the Systems Engineering “V”, coding best practices, Kalman filtering & RPOs, and so much more, Palski & Associates is preparing the next new grads to be valuable assets when they reach the industry – furthering our nation’s goals in Defense.
We are so excited to see their final product in mid-August!
